John Silver Penny 1199-1216AD Rhuddlan mint Rare

From Domesday in 1086AD, a small borough was established beside the castle at Rhuddlan. It had both a church and a mint. Silver pennies were minted at Rhuddlan late in the reign of William I and also between c.1180 to 1215, as this example. They are from irregular dies, presumed to be of local manufacture.
Pennies struck at this Welsh mint are uncommon.
