This coin comes with a rough find area provenance

Antedios, or Anted, meaning the ’fiery one’ or ‘the one who sits in front’, was a contemporary of Cunobelinus. He was the first Icenian king to put his name on coins. Among his early issues were those engraved SIA which might be part of his father’s name. Antedios seems to have ruled concurrently with one, or possibly two, other Iceni chieftains. One of these was Ecen. His pattern horse silver coins come from the same mint group as the proceeding boar/horse coins. Like other Corieltavian rulers of the time Antedios never showed heads on their silver coins. It is possible that Antedios of the Iceni was the same Antedios who was ruling the Dobunni at the same time.
