A scarce type, this example being well centred both sides, a little weak on the reverse.
Addedomaros, which is thought to mean ‘great in chariots’ or great in steadfastness’ may have been a younger brother or even a son of Cassivellaunos. He was a king of great power and prestige who appears to have been well educated and was also well armed. He was the first ruler north of the Thames who inscribed his name on his coins. All the coin issues of Addedomaros are concentrated in the territory of the Catuvellauni although he may of held sway over part of the Trinovantes for a period and even have threatened the Iceni.
