Herennius Etruscus was the eldest son of Trajan Decius and he was probably born around AD 235. The year after his father became emperor Heennius Etruscus was given the rank of Caesar. The following year he accompanied his father on the fateful campaign against the Gothic invaders. Whilst on campaign he was elevated to Augustus and co emperor however he was shortly afterwards killed in battle at Abrittus, along with his father. He had coins issued both as Caesar and also as Augustus.
