A rare opportunity to purchase a British Iron Age gold coin from a fully provenanced hoard find, seldom are finds like this disclaimed and made available to the private collector. Hoard coins are often in high grade and these are no exception. These coins have been carefully struck, seen little circulation and have little wear through being in the ground, hard to believe they are 2000 years old!

The Borden Hoard

A tip off from a chance find in Kent during the 19th Century led metal detectorists to discover this wonderful hoard of Iron Age gold coins dating back to the 1st century AD. The hoard consisted of 42 gold staters of king Cunobelin and was declared then disclaimed under the Treasure act. Coins from this exciting find are available to private collectors exclusively from Silbury Coins Ltd, the leading British Iron Age coin dealership.

Each coin will come with a detailed informative booklet, information from which can also be viewed online. Visit our ‘Articles & Research’ tab above, then click ‘The Borden Hoard and history of king Cunobelin’. The Borden Hoard and History of King Cunobelin – Silbury Coins : Silbury Coins
