This coin was found near Ross-on-Wye deep in the territory of the Dobunni. This was the prototype for the early Dobunnic staters, this coin possibly even struck by them as the gold is not the usually buttery yellow of this type but the more coppery gold typical of that used by the Dobunni. An interesting piece worthy of further study.
