The obverse of this coin shows the confronted heads of Nero and Agrippina (mother of Nero), Nero bare-headed facing right, Agrippina draped facing left; the reverse portrays and oak wreath, legend around, EX SC within. The official issue was struck circa 54 AD. A fourrée (fourrée) is made from a base metal core that has been plated with a precious metal to look like its solid metal counterpart.
