Edward III Gold Noble 1327-1377AD Treaty period 1361-69AD
33x34mm, 7.63g

Edward III , in 1344, intoduced a gold series with the double-florin or leopard, based upon the french currency system, but this was replaced later the same year by the heavier gold noble and its fractions, the noble circulating at six shillings and eight pence.

An impressive coin in the hand.
