VOLISIOS DVMNOCOVEROS
Another issuer late in the Corieltavian sequence is that of ‘VOLISIOS DVMNOCOVEROS’, whose origins remain frustratingly unclear. If this is the name of two individuals, it could be that ‘VOLISIOS’ overlapped with ‘DVMNOCOVEROS’ – hence the placement of both names upon coinage. As with other literate named ‘issuers’ on Corieltavian coins, these were probably struck relatively shortly before the Claudian invasion.
