An important new discovery adding to the corpus of ‘Aston Rowant’ sceatta, named after the first coins of this extremely rare type were discovered in the Aston Rowant hoard found in 1971, now in the British Museum. This was the single largest find of Sceatta in Britain, some 350 coins originally concealed in AD 710-715.
This coin comes with a previous hand written label and is recorded with the EMC.
