The Worcester Collection of Maundy Coinage

We are delighted to be able to offer for sale The Worcester collection of Maundy coinage. Containing some 650 Maundy coins ranging from Charles II (AD 1660-85) through to Elizabeth II (AD 1952-2022) carefully put together over three decades by an avid collector who has now decided it is time to pass the coins on and allow others to enjoy them. There are many high-grade examples, coins will be offered individually at fixed prices, there are also a few sets. The Maundy series is a fantastic way to put a collection of high-grade, attractive milled coins together with a modest budget.

This truly magnificent piece will be familiar to many as the Arras Medallion of Constantius I. A spectacular gold medallion valued at 10 solidi issued to commemorate the end of Constantius’s campaign, his victory over the British usurper Allectus and the recapture of London circa AD 297.

We sold this piece recently and wanted to share it with you. In case you are concerned, no we are not writing this from inside a prison cell, if you look carefully this is actually a 20th Century copy of the original, executed very well indeed.
