Obverse
Three parallel lines of pellets across middle of flan. Remnants of pellet annulets either side.
Reverse
Horse left, pellet ladder mane, annulet eye. Floral sun (sunburst rosette) above. Cross-hatched pellet ring with ringed pellet below between horse’s legs. Ringed pellet in front and behind.

The hatched ring is from either British P Class 2 Tree Triangle (ABC 192) or Cantii Class 3 Trophy (ABC 195).
This coin fits in a sub-series with ABC 542, Triple Line Tree, ABC 629, Triple Line Net, ABC 626 and ABC 632 that may have all been struck by the same authority.

Regni/Regini
The Regni, sometimes referred to as the Regini, appear to have occupied what is today the western portion of West Sussex – their tribal civitas probably underlying what became the Roman town of Noviomagus Reginorum (Chichester). Regnian coinage is characterised not only by its sheer diversity, but also scarcity. Indeed, many of the key types are extremely rare. This is perhaps exemplified best by many of the tribe’s quarter-staters, of which no fewer than forty varieties are listed by ABC.
